Capture the connection or disconnect you have with the world. How by not valuing these things do you not value your own life and the lives of others?

The connection between the universe and I is that we keep moving forward. Its not just me, but we as people have a deep connection with the universe that we never realize. Even after we are put through so many struggles we never give up because we cannot keep letting things holding us back. The universe still moves forwards even after the damage we cause it and for humans we hurt each other. We humans never realize how we are damaging out earth, but yet it keeps providing us with a life that has such beauty, but we tend to ignore it. Like, the universe, we humans can also be broken by other peoples words and actions. As we keep destroying the universe and ourselves there will be a moment in life where life is going to stop us from moving on. What are the damages we have done to our universe? In society is shown that it is good to help others out, but when will we start helping our own planet that we are corrupting? They say that we are the cancer, which is true by the way, but when will finally accept this fact and actually try to do something so it won’t happen to the future generation. We already have damaged our bodies because we are exposed to so many chemicals that are in the air, eating food that contains pesticides, and much more. The disconnect between the universe and humans is unbelievable. Whatever damage we cause to the universe is just going to come back at us, its like karma. We are hurting the universe and because of our actions it will affect our health. All of the corruption we have caused is because we humans are selfish and always want more until we are satisfied. By not valuing the universe it just shows the value we do not have for our own life and the natural existence. Nature basically provides us with all the necessities we need like food, water, air, but instead we are doing whatever we want in trying to damage these things. Will we start valuing the importance of nature when we start to run out of water, which we already are since we are not getting enough rain, we are in a drought. The universe is like us, it deserves respect but unfortunately we don’t view the universe that way. We are always going to think about ways where we can benefit ourselves.

Greatest enviromental concern

I think there is not just one environmental concern I have because there are so many. All of them are important for people to recognize and start thinking about what we are doing to our universe. My biggest concern is that people will continue on with ignoring the facts of global warming, what is happening with the water, and food system, and the animals that are going extinct. We all know about global warming but we as humans just ignore this huge concern by moving on with our daily lives, not caring about why and how this his happened. We never try to think beyond the facts that are given to us. There are so many environmental issues that are going on in our universe, but all we care are about how are we going to get through the next day. When will start having concern for the planet that basically provides us with everything and when will we look at the damages we caused to our planet. Everyday we go by breathing the toxic air that contains chemicals and drink water that probably has chemicals inside of it too. Nature provides us humans with beauty, necessities like water, air, plants, and etc., but we do not think about its existence instead we look at the man made things as beautiful like buildings.

Q&A

What do you want to be? I want to be a pediatric nurse because I enjoy working with kids. I am aiming to become a pediatric nurse because after really thinking about what I enjoy and will enjoy in the future is helping children. What do you want to do? I want to be able to help people as in families and communities in any way I can. I think being a pediatric nurse will allow to help out those families in my own community by making sure they are aware of how they can help their children live a healthy lifestyle. Are these two questions connected and how are they connected? These two questions are connected because if you think about what you want do is whats going to lead you to figure what you should do in the future. I think the question what do you want to do is the biggest and most important question a person should ask themselves. The second question really helps you lead into the first question that is asked, which is what do you want to be. I think the second question is more about what are you passionate about and what is it that you love, that you will want to apply to your life in the future. Like, I enjoy working with kids and want to help out families and nursing is one way i can do that.

Response to Oakland Occupy Movement

First off, I heard about the about the Oakland Occupy Movement, but never new what was actually happening. After watching the first video showing how everyone is protesting and it was peaceful, but their was no violence which had me surprised because I always thought something wrong always happens when people protest. Unfortunately, with the next video we watched in class was very disappointing to see how people were screaming and running around because the police had used weapons. This weapon had hurt Scott Olsen who now has to deal with severe medical conditions. Because of the weapons the police officer used it caused this man to lose his chance to have employment and do other things that he was able to do before his injury. All these people that were present at this protest were just trying to fight for their rights and voice their opinions. Is it not our right to have freedom of speech? Even if we try to speak up there is always someone who is going to fight against and some may use violence to shut the other peoples mouth. My concern is that will we ever be able to speak our minds without having to face violence. Mahatma Gandhi was able to fight for his country without any use of violence. Then why can't we do the same thing as him?

"9 out of 10 Americans" video

After watching this video I am shocked how the middle class is shrinking. What we all may think the ideal distribution is not how it actually is in reality. When I look at the shrinking middle class I think that I am a part of that. That is my family and I who are not being able to live in this world were everywhere we go the most important thing is do you have money? I do believe that people think that we are doing okay because there is no time for a person to actually start thinking about what is really going on. Going to work so they can have money to support themselves and their family is actually distracting them to even think about what is happening. Also, the media is distracting people, which is a huge influence on the society. By media I mean whatever is shown on television, advertisement during commercials, and on billboards. All these things have people not thinking about what really is happening to them in reality. Instead they are thinking about what clothes they need to be updated with today’s generation or what a celebrity is doing to lose weight. Moreover, this concludes to the poor are becoming invisible on the chart because everyone is spending money things that they believe are necessary for them. I think that it is right and wrong that there are people that have more than others. Well you could say it is right because these people worked hard to reach where they are at but doesn’t everyone try to do that. There is something that is stopping the rest of the people to have more. Why can we all not be equal? Perhaps this is happening because some people are always hungry for more. The way our society is built it gives hope to people to always want more but never do they know that at one point it is enough for them. Can we all be equal? Wasn’t our constitution supposed to provide us with equality? I believe that in our world we live in there is equality towards certain things. The videos facts makes me upset because there giving everyone else false hope.
